The UK government remains committed to the UK leaving the EU on terms agreed with the EU. The deadline for the UK to leave has been extended until 31 October 2019 to give the government more time to secure the support of MPs for the Withdrawal Agreement.
However, it is not clear whether the Withdrawal Agreement will be approved by MPs. Significant uncertainty therefore continues to surround the timing of the UK’s exit and indeed the future shape of UK-EU relations.
I know that this is an unsettling time for many of you and you are likely to have many questions about what happens now and what this means for you. As a University, I want to assure you that we will work to support you.
This dedicated website has been established to provide information and support to both staff and students and to help keep you up to date with the latest developments in the Brexit negotiations.
We welcome staff and students from the EU and across the globe and our international students and staff are an intrinsic and valued part of our academic life, university community and wider society here in Belfast and Northern Ireland. This will continue to be the case.
